What's In a Name?

Many of you have asked about Britton's name ... He is named for two of his great-grandfathers. Samuel Britton Johnson (Emily's grandfather) and James Daniel Giffen (Danny's grandfather--also Danny's namesake). Of course, we were sure we were having a little Katherine Collins Giffen (more family names), but this little guy surprised us in more ways than one.

AJ and I absolutely love your son's name. It is so strong and commanding yet warm to say and hear. Loving you three from afar and keeping you in constant prayer.

PS- we all look forward to having Bear host Britton at his first game at Fenway Park!

Giffens,
I am soooo grateful to God that He gave you such a tremendous compliment! Britton "landed" exactly right--in a loving and prayerful Christian home. Thank you for sharing your blessings with your Covenant family.

I have been reading your blog since Britton’s birth. It warmed my heart and brought tears to see Britton’s every picture and read the progress he made everyday. He is truly blessed to have you both as his amazing parents. I will keep praying for his tests of tomorrow and Wednesday.

Love,
Linling
