Happy 4th Anniversary!

Love you sweetie. Just wanted to say thank you for four wonderful years! And, thanks for putting up with my selfishness, craziness, poor leadership, and goofiness. You are the love of my life!

Getting into the gifts a bit prematurely on Christmas Eve!

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care. Notice Britton's on the far right. My mother carried on the family tradition of the grandmother needlepointing a stocking for her grandchild.

So not ready to go to bed on Christmas Eve! Did somebody tell this guy about Santa??

Britton loves to clap when he's happy!

See his little name on his pjs? I bought these a long time ago, but thought they would NEVER fit him. I pulled them out in time for Christmas and they fit perfectly, and they're a 12-18mo. in size. The boy is growing!!!

Back at our house ... this tree was one of Britton's favorite things about this Christmas! He loved this little fiberoptic tree I put in his room. It will definitely make a return next December.

Britton's Christmas

I have tons of pictures to upload of our Christmas, but here is a quick video of Britton playing by the tree:

Merry Christmas Eve!

The Risk of Birth
This is no time for a child to be born,
With the earth betrayed by war and hate;
And a nova lighting the sky to warn --
That time runs out and the sun burns late.

That was no time for a child to be born,
In a land in the crushing grip of Rome;
Honour and truth were trampled by scorn --
Yet here did the Saviour make his home.

When is the time for love to be born?
The inn is full on planet earth;
And by greed and pride the sky is torn --
Yet Love still takes the risk of birth.

Madeleine L'Engle

Merry Christmas!

A Squealing Good Time

Britton with his Aunt Danica:

A Giffen Christmas

We gladly hosted an impromptu Giffen Christmas this weekend after Danny's parents got a great deal on a flight east. Danny's brother Ryan, his wife, Danica, & their son Will joined us and we all had fun opening gifts with the boys and sharing in their exuberance over Round 1 of Christmas.

Presents!

Working together to put the balls in & take them out. So cute!

In their matching Christmas pjs from GiGi.

Jailbirds.

Britton eyes Will's Handy Manny truck.

This video hardly does justice to Britton's animated excitement over opening gifts, but it's the closest thing we've got:

It's so fun having a baby celebrate his first Christmas when he can really be a part of what is going on. I am excited about Christmas morning!

Little Santa

Great Grandpa Charles (Danny's grandfather) brought Britton and Will a little holiday cheer with these Santa Claus outfits. Britton loved flying in the air looking for Donner and Blitzen!

He had a little Jordanesque air time.
