Our baby boy was baptized yesterday, June 1, in a beautiful service we will remember forever. It was June 1 a year ago that we found out I was carrying this little life. And a year later to the day, I was witness to the beautiful sacrament of baptism for my precious son. As early as the book of Genesis, God established a covenant between His people and their children. So it was a sweet day to see Danny baptize our firstborn ... our covenant child, Britton.
It was a great day in the life of our church -- for the many who have prayed for him -- and a special moment in the life of our family. Here are some pictures from Britton's big day.
"How long are those baby's legs?" This was something Danny said as a child after seeing a baby in a traditional baptism gown. It was oft quoted this weekend. :o)
Luncheon Pictures
We had a little luncheon in our home after the service for all of the family who came into town.
Britton's 3 living great-grandparents.
By the looks he gave this cake, he might really be digging into his first birthday cake! We have lots of pictures of him eyeing this cake.

Emily and Danny,
What precious pictures. Britton is growing bigger and bigger every time I see a picture of him. Thank you for sharing these with us. Your blog has become an enjoyable dissertation break for me.
Love y'all, Joanna
I love his gown! The pictures are wonderful, and I teared up reading this post. What a special day. I can't get over how big Britton is getting!
