Showered!

There were three baby showers planned for the week that Britton was born. Obviously, we weren't expecting him to come so early! His early arrival was a surprise to a lot of people. Thanks to all of you hosts who rearranged your plans to accommodate us.

Our first shower, planned for the evening of Britton's birth, was quickly converted to a prayer group. Our sweet friends who hosted it then brought all the gifts up to the hospital that night for us to open them. What a sweet surprise?! In retrospect that was such a big day ... a frantic race to the hospital, hearing the news that our baby might not make it, an emergency c-section, meeting our son for the first time, visiting with the many friends who came to the hospital that day, and a baby shower to top it all off. Let me just say that it meant so much to us for people to shower us with flowers & gifts & "congratulations" in those early days ... Regardless of what the outcome would be, we still had a son, and it was so great to hear people's excitement. We needed that encouragement on such a tough day.

Here is the very first gift we received ... a signed frame with Britton's first picture!

We had another fun shower a week after Britton was born, where our little boy got lots of wonderful gifts! We are so thankful to all of our generous, thoughtful friends. We are so blessed!
Proud new parents at the shower.

Just for Danny ... a Longhorn hooded towel. This made it so worth him attending the all women shower!

The hosts dressed Danny up for all of his new roles as a father -- a frying pan & apron for his increased cooking duties, a bottomless purse for all the money he'll be shelling out, etc. ... He was a good sport!

A sweet Liz Landgren painting just for Britton's room -- a mama lamb, a baby lamb & an angel watching over them. There were several handmade gifts (a beautiful quilt, a hand-monogrammed blanket) ... I wish I had pictures of all of them.

Thanks again to all of you who honored our sweet Britton!
