Friday Night Update

For all of you Giffen blog addicts out there, apologies for waiting so late to post again. We had a good day today. Besides catching Britton in cute poses (like his little body pillow to the left?), we got some good rocking time in, and got to change a bunch of dirty diapers. Britton's feedings have increased from 10ccs every 3 hours to 40ccs every 3 hours, and he sure is producing a lot of "output." He is doing pretty good with the feedings, but we think the 40ccs may be a little too much for him. He is not that interested in finishing his bottles. Hopefully, he'll have more of an appetite in the coming days. He started his phenobarbitol back after being off of it for 36 hours, so he was a little more sedated today than yesterday.

The main things that have to happen before he comes home are:
* he has to eat well
* he has to gain weight
* he has to keep his oxygen saturation levels up

We have been told that it will at least be another week, or maybe two. We hope it won't be any longer than that!

Danny & I are moving back home tomorrow. We have really enjoyed staying at the hospital and being so close to Britton, but it's time to get back in our home, and start getting everything ready for the little guy to come home. We hope the impending snow storm here won't get too crazy tomorrow.

Here are some pictures & a video from today:

Danny's first dirty diaper change. Many more to come!

Loving the Eskimo kisses.

Grand Marna (Emily's mom) is back in town, and got to hold Britton for the first time tonight.

oh do we know about oxygen saturation levels! that has been the thing that has kept us here so long. but Miller finally kept his up on his own for 24 hours so i think we are going home today!!! we will be praying that baby britton will be able to hold his oxygen levels up on his own very soon!!!
