Today marks Britton's two-week birthday! On one hand, we can't believe it's only been two weeks since he came into this world, yet on the other hand, it seems like that traumatic day was a lifetime ago. We are so grateful for the progress he's made in just two short weeks! This little guy has come a long way, and we are reminded of that by the medical staff every day.
Today's update:
* He has gained weight! He's up from 5 lbs, 10.8 oz (his lowest) to 5 lbs., 12 oz. He has shown a gain for the last two days, so we are glad he's heading in the right direction.
* He hardly had any d-sats today (maybe 1?).
* Overall, he has eaten better today & he has been more awake & active.
* We were told that he will have a repeat MRI & EEG later this week.
Here are a few pictures from today:

Great Grandpa Charles with Britton.
BFFs -- Mr. Wilson & Britton. Notice that Mr. Wilson has his own heart sticker and blue tape just like Britton. If you didn't read about him earlier, Mr. Wilson is Britton's bed buddy. He was given to us by the NICU so we could carry him around and have our smells on him. That way, Britton will hopefully be able to sense his mom & dad around the clock.
Happy Mama. Danny & I love every chance we get to hold our little man.

Emily and Danny,
We have been faithfully following Britton's progress and counting it a priviledge to pray for the three of you! I guess that makes us official Britton Blog Stalkers...
We so enjoyed the time we worshipped with you at Covenant (and the Doyle's pool in the summer)and now we are among those far and wide praying for your dear little miracle man! Thank you for taking the extra time and energy to keep all of us updated on Britton's progress including photos and sharing how God is walking each of you through this time. You are an encouragement to many! May our Lord continue to strengthen each of you and carry you triumphantly through each day! Christ's love to you from Maryland!

Emily,
You are doing a great job! Personally I prefer the short and sweet. I promise God will give you the strength to keep up the pace. Breath, Breath,Breath.
I am so excited to see his continued improvement! I know you are relieved to see his weight gain, feeding improvements, and better O2 sats. We are praying for God to give you continued strength and endurance in your daily grind to be with little Britton as much as possible. I know it is easy to say to take things one day at a time. I'm sure at times it is minute to minute. You do the best you can. It was so good to talk with you the other day. You look really good in this picture. Of course, Britton's pics are precious. Thinking of you lots.
Love and hugs to all...

Emily / Danny,
Less d-sat's is wonderful!! that is a bigger part of the initial hump he will cross over. Great News! My wife and I are praying that God keeps you calm, rested and well though his stay in the NICU. Does Britton have any issues with Brady's at all? (dramatic heart rate drop) Just curious.
God Bless,
Stephen and Nicole Smith
i noticed no oxygen tubes in his nose!!! yea! i know that every tube/wire that gets taken off is such a relief!
