Escape.

He finally figured it out .... how to escape through the doggie door! Knew this day was coming but didn't think it would come so fast. So, a little explanation ... we have quite the set-up for animals in our home. Our doggie door is actually built into an exterior wall (instead of a door) in the den. From that wall is a 30-foot covered ramp that leads to an enclosed and covered dog pen. Probably hard for you to get a mental image, but it's kind of like a zoo exhibit ... of sorts. We did not build this, but it works great for our Piper and worked great for my old Marley. The previous owners had two small dogs, and they were worried that the backyard owl would swoop down and attack if the dogs were to go the bathroom at night, thus the whole contraption.

So, Britton has been playing near the doggie door for awhile, but never showed an interest in finding out what was on the other side of it. Until a couple of weeks ago ... Britton was near the doggie door, I told Danny not to worry, he wouldn't go out. And we just sat there ... speechless ... and watched him just slip on out. He was gone before we could react. And by the time we got outside, he was running down the ramp...
