Labor Day Weekend & Zoo-stravaganza

Danny, Britton & I had a great visit with Danny's parents over the long Labor Day weekend! GiGi & Daddy Doug spent some good time getting to know Britton better as he has changed so much in the last couple of months. One of the fun things we did was to take Britton on his first zoo outing. It was a blast. Britton seemed to enjoy being out and about in new surroundings, and he actually looked at a lot of the animals. He really perked up, though, when we got him out of the stroller and put him up on our shoulders to see the giraffes.

The rest of the weekend was spent cooking breakfast (Doug treated us to banana pecan waffles!) and dinner (my first shot at cajun gumbo), going out to eat a few times, and doing the routine bottle feedings, solid feedings, diaper changes, and baths for Britton. Even though we love taking care of our boy, it was fun to let the grandparents take charge. GiGi gives better baths than we do, I think! And she seemed to love taking care of him and doing all of the daily things.

Britton continues to be a gentle, easygoing child, who is full of smiles, and he impressed his grandparents with his overall development and happy nature. We are beyond blessed with our sweet boy! Here are pics from our fun times.

And, there was dancing...

So, as you can see, he took a turn riding on everyone's shoulders.

Gi-normous alligators.

The misters keeping my boys cool on a hot day.

A happy threesome.
