Six Month Stats

Britton had a doctor's visit a few days ago, and it was great to hear from our pediatrician that Britton looks like a strong & healthy six month old! He is slowly working his way up the growth charts. This visit is the first time we've been above 25% in a category!! He is now at:

Height -- 25 1/2 inches, 50th percentile
Weight -- 14 lbs, 9 oz., 25th percentile
Head circ. -- 15 1/2 inches, 5th percentile

Britton is being charted along with babies of his birth age, not his gestational age, so he would definitely be on the bigger side had he gone full-term (another 5 weeks). He's doing a decent job at hanging with the "big" kids. You may be wondering why his head is so small. His head circumference numbers would likely be worrisome on a "normal" baby, and the docs always keep a good watch on it in light of what he's been through. However, they aren't worried because his head keeps growing at exactly the rate & amount it is supposed to from visit to visit. As well, since his head started completely off the charts (low), the growth we've seen has been great, or, as our neurologist says, "perfect." Can't argue with that. We have a checkup with the neurologist next month. He is not planning to run any tests, but just wants to see him and do a developmental analysis. We'll keep you updated on the health front...
