Well, we are still on go for a Friday departure! Britton's sat level has been holding steady, and we are just counting down the hours until we get to be with him 24/7.

The plan is for us to "check in" tomorrow at 4 p.m. We will first get trained on how to use the home apnea monitor that Britton will go home on. He has not had any apnea spells (more than 20 seconds b/n each breath), however this monitor will give mom & dad a lot of peace of mind when we go to bed each night!

We will then go to a little hotel-like room in the NICU with Britton, where we will spend our first night with him. We'll have a nurse assigned to us and she will check in on us throughout the night. The next morning, we'll meet with the doctor and go through the discharge assignments & paperwork. Then, we say our goodbyes & head home!

Emily spent a lot of time with Britton today. He was wide awake again for about 6 hours this morning. In trying to get him to sleep, the nurse put him in a swing. The swing had some toy rings hanging down, and they must have really caught Britton's attention, because he stared at them for a long time. Then, he reached out and grabbed one of the rings! I am sure it was a total accident that he made contact with the rings, but how amazed are we that he was even reaching out! We hope this is a good sign of things to come.

We'll keep you posted on the homecoming activities ...

This video is pure sweetness! Check out Britton's newly acquired double chin:
