8 Months on the 8th!

Britton turned 8 months old today! We can't believe we are fast approaching his first birthday. Babies grow up so fast, and the 8 months we've had our boy have flown by (well, maybe not the first 6 weeks!).

We had a great month-a-versary today at the beach. Britton had his first experience with sand and loved it! He took his morning nap under the umbrella on the beach, played in the sand (ate it too) and the waves, and swam in the pool. It was a full day.

We will take his 8-month picture with the stuffed lion when we return home, and post those pics soon.

And We're Off...

We left for the beach yesterday, after spending several hours packing and loading...


Thankfully, we have "strategic" packers in the family! There wasn't a wasted inch of space left in the car once everything was in.


While the packers were packing, I was busy trying to catch this spider web with my camera. Spider webs like this pop up frequently in the span of an hour or two at our house. This web had "flying buttresses," though, they may be a bit hard to see. It was pretty fascinating.

This morning, we were off to the pool...

You can see the humidity in the air.


The weather here is calling for rain every day, but so far it has been beautiful and breezy!

Uncle Scott Hangs with the Neph

Uncle Scott was blessed with an entire week off of work from the symphony so he grabbed his bags and joined us for a couple of days.

His duties these days included hanging with Britton...

Look What Arrived Yesterday

My new camera! Thanks to Mima, Ali, Mom & the Giffens for generously gifting me money for my birthday, I am the proud new owner of a fancy digital camera. I love taking pictures of Britton (no surprise there), and I have been frustrated lately with our point & shoot camera because of its slow shutter speed. It's hard to capture a moving target with a slow camera. So, after a lot of research and a couple "test drives", I finally ordered one. I am still figuring it out, but here are some of my first pictures:
