Britton and the Colonel
Britton meets Colonel Reb.
Britton & I spent last weekend in Oxford, Miss. at the Double Decker Arts & Music Festival. Had a great time. Here are some snapshots from my camera phone. I didn't take one picture with my real camera. Shocking, I know. Was such a fun time being back in my college town, though.
My sister, Elizabeth, and me.

Elmo
Just some really quick video clips of Britton and his Elmo:
By the way, I know several of our friends have this same Elmo. We found out when you put new batteries in it, he has a host of new songs and stories.
This one of him standing was taken about a week or two before he started walking.

Big Boy Table
Britton now eats some of his meals at his big boy table. We bought this table and chair set, thinking it would be a while before he used it. But his therapists suggested we start working on some structured sit down & play time. So, it is now a fixture in our kitchen. He enjoys eating sandwiches at lunch from the perch of his new little table set. He also works on coloring and stacking blocks, etc. from here.

First Tricycle
Here is our big boy riding his first tricycle. And, oh my goodness, he loves it! Danny has been looking for a trike with a tall handle on the back for him to push (without breaking his back). So, we were having dinner at the house of friends the other night, and they had one that their children had outgrown. They oh-so-kindly gifted it to us, and Britton has been a happy camper since. For the first couple of days, it sat on our patio, and Britton would stand at the window pointing and saying "eh" "eh" "eh." It was a struggle at first to keep Britton's feet on the stationery bar (he is a long way away from reaching the pedals), but he quickly figured out that the key to riding was keeping his feet up. He and Danny now cruise the neighborhood on the tricycle each evening. It is a sweet time. So fun for us to see him enjoy being outside and doing big boy things.

He Walks!
That's right, our little guy is walking. For months now, I have been predicting that he would walk at 15 months, and sure enough, at 15 months and some change, he just started toddling everywhere in his sweet toddler way. He has been taking steps for nearly a month now, but at Mother's Day Out this past Monday, he started walking ... a lot. The irony is that the day before, on Sunday, he hardly walked at all. I figured it would happen at Mother's Day Out as he loves to do whatever the other kiddos are doing. Anyway, he hasn't slowed down since Monday. Fun times ahead. ;o)
To appease the grandmothers, I got a couple of video clips of Britton walking this evening...
Yep, he is pretty clumsy...

Big Boy Things
Britton is doing lots of big boy things lately ... like WALKING! We are a little behind on blogging about these things, as our hard drive crashed the other day. We are back in business now, but I am having to reload all the photos we've taken in the last month back on the computer. Thankfully, we didn't lose anything permanently, as it was all saved on our external hard drive. If any of you out there have all your photos or important files on a computer, without a backup system, let me share with you what the computer people said ... "There are two kinds of hard drives. Those that have crashed. And those that will crash." So thankful that all our family photos were safe. Precious memories. Anyway, I'll be blogging the rest of the week about Britton's big boy adventures!

Easter Sunday
I am finally getting around to posting pics of our Easter.
So ... as you might imagine, the Easter Bunny came and left some treats for our little boy ...
... which he was thrilled about.
There were Easter eggs ...
... filled with yogurt bites (his favorite treat) ...
... and bubbles ...
... and crayons and a book.
This was Britton's second Easter, and, oh my, the difference a year makes:
Britton at 15 months (on top) and at 2 months (on bottom).
After church, we enjoyed an Easter dinner with friends and spent the whole afternoon at their house, talking, eating, watching the Masters and exploring their beautiful backyard.
Truly, a joyous second Easter celebration with our little miracle.

More Easter Pics
Here are a few more Easter pictures of Britton...
As you might imagine, my camera shutter was going rapid-fire this day. It is getting harder and harder to get a bunch of good smiley pictures of our boy. Not that you can tell that from the above pictures, but if you were to take a look at all the photos on my computer that I don't post, you would see! Hope you are all having a wonderful week.

Easter Egg Hunt'n
Britton went on his first hunt today -- hunting for Easter eggs, that is, at the Bluff Park Egg Hunt. I really didn't have high expectations of him "finding" a lot of eggs, as I knew there would be a lot of big, rowdy kids in search of a sugar high fast kiddos out there, but somehow we managed to find a quiet corner of the park ... and the eggs were all his.
Listening to the Easter Story.
Britton's buddy, Mason, with his daddy, Brian.
And the hunt is on (just imagine the sounds of kids running wild and screaming like banshees in the background) ...
The loot.
Mama and her happy babe.
Britton & Mason.
They were both rather intrigued by the dirt. Definitely boys.
We ran into one of Britton's NICU nurses, Holly, at the Egg Hunt. It was great to catch up with her and to meet her family. Holly took care of Britton on those first few nights when he was really, really sick, so it was fun for us to show her Britton now!

GiGi's Easter Outfit
Britton's GiGi is great at picking out adorable outfits for Britton. Here is an Easter outfit she brought for him when she last visited. Unfortunately, he was not in the mood to be photographed, but the outfit and the pouty faces were so cute I had to post...
Let it be known that there were also other factors at play here ... like the fact that he was hungry.
This is his "more/please" sign. In this case, he meant, "Pleeeeaaaase get some food in my belly," which we did.
It does crack me up how quickly he learned to pout. The big pouty faces started a few weeks ago when we were traveling in the car. He was wanting out of he car seat, and I told him "no" and he immediately threw his head to the side, averted his eyes, and stuck his bottom lip out. So dramatic.
Thanks, GiGi, for the cute Easter duds!
